Hammersmith
Project Description
This is our third project for bere:arachitects, the continuation of fruitful collaboration between one of the UK’s best known award-winning low-energy architecture practises and Bow Tie Construction.
The house is being completely stripped out and its thermal efficiency upgraded to near Passive House standards. New bathrooms and kitchen will be installed and the entire house redecorated. An MVHR system will be installed to ensure clean fresh air 24/7.
“My projects with Bow Tie are the only ones where I’ve left the contractor to follow my airtightness details and the projects have passed the 1st airtightness test.”
“We had a lot of people stay over Christmas, some quite elderly, who were concerned about being in a big old house in Winter and being cold and we received a lot of complements on the comfort and easy warmth. There is no higher accolade than complements on your house from your mother-in-law!”
“Bow Tie Construction were very professional, they did things to a very high standard and paid a lot of attention to detail. When small issues were flagged here or there they were always keen to investigate and fix them.”
“Passing our air test the first time is testament to how well Bow Tie do things”
“This house is cosy and comfortable but in a natural way. Our old house was of similar scale, area and build and if you wanted to heat a room you had to blast it and the air would then be very dry and that heat would quickly leak out.”
