Retrofit Energy Pod

YESporch is a British designed and manufactured energy pod solution that fits in with existing vernacular and street scenes. The YES stands for ‘Your Energy System’ as the key purpose of the porch is to house modern low-power consumption, zero operation carbon heating systems that take up more space than fossil fuel powered systems.

YESporch Provides the Following:

  • Housing for Air source heat pump, MVHR system and ventilation manifold

  • All M&E Equipment fitted and connected in the YESporch factory

  • No planning permission required. YESporch complies with permitted development

  • No planning permission required. YESporch complies with permitted development requirements for a front porch addition to a building: max 3 sqm area, max 3m high

  • Short turnover on site: maximum 3 day installation
    Occupier living at the property while installation is carried out

  • Proposal meets the EnergieSprong energy targets and ECO3 funding requirements

  • Improve property kerb appeal

Currently YESporch features Viessman ASHP & MVHR equipment which is cost-effective and reliable with support from a global company with an excellent support network in the UK.

Bow Tie are available to install the M&E equipment within YESporch before it leaves the factory, install the porch on-site and make all connections and commission the equipment.

EXTERNAL FINISHES

Currently there are three options, more can be developed as per client requirements.

  • Silicon brick slips (typically a Wetherby system)
  • Cement Board (Whitby and Wigmore)
  • Silicon Render

From a planning perspective YESPorch is considered lawful as it complies with the requirements for permitted development under Schedule 2, Part 1 (Development within the curtilage of a dwellinghouse) Class D of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development Order 1995, as amended).

An additional porch can improve the resident’s experience of their home. It adds internal space for storage of coats and shoes thus freeing up cluttered hallways of terraced social housing with a typical internal area of 65 sq m. As each unit is made to order the design can be tweaked to best fit the building archetype and street it is being installed on. YESporch is fitted with a Passivhaus specification door.

Construction and Installation

YESporch Fully constructed off-site by experienced Passivhaus builders in High Wycombe Buckinghamshire at Bow Tie Construction’s facility. It is delivered by crane. The arm of the crane must be able to reach front door of the building. Overhead cables must be assessed. Please see photos of an example delivery. Foundations must be in place prior to delivery. Installation duration: Maximum of three days from start to finish.

YESporch is supplied with M&E equipment pre-installed by Bow Tie Construction (MCS & Trustmark Certification in process).
